Forecast Update Times

Each forecast is updated twice a day, every 12 hours.

The schedule for each forecast is as below: The forecast may be 30 mins earlier for some high-resolution locations. Please add one hour if on daylight savings time.

Atmospheric Models

The 1km resolution PWG forecasts are updated at 11:55 and 23:55

The 1km resolution PWE forecasts are updated at 02:10 and 14:10

The 8km resolution PWG forecasts are updated at 11:15 and 23:15
The 8km resolution PWE forecasts are updated at 01:30 and 13:30

The 50km resolution PWG forecasts are updated at 10:55 and 22:55
The 50km resolution PWE forecasts are updated at 01:10 and 13:10

The GFS forecasts are updated at 11:40 and 23:40
The ECMWF forecasts are updated at 02:00 and 14:00

  • HRRR updates every hour. 00, 06, 12, & 18z (UTC) runs have a full-length forecast (48h), the other runs are 18h, The forecast we have is assembled from the most recent run plus the last 30h from the prior full run. This means the cadence is not exactly 60 minutes as the long run comes out later.

  • NAM updates every 12h 1000 and 2200 (GMT-5)

  • AROME every 12h 1120 & 2320 (GMT-5)

The next forecast update time is displayed on the PredictWind Website and PredictWind App. Details can be viewed in real-time and are written below the forecast location name.

Wave Models

The 50km resolution PWG wave forecasts are updated at 00:25 and 12:25
The 50km resolution PWE wave forecasts are updated at 02:40 and 15:30

The 14km resolution ECMWF wave forecasts are updated at 02:00 and 14:00

Current Models

Tidal Global 3:45

Hycom 1 day usually between 0740 - 13:40

Sea Surface Temperature

GHRSST 12:30
