There are two ways to make calls, using the Iridium GO exec App or the Iridium GO exec device keypad.

Note: ALWAYS ensure you use the full international dialling sequence: 00 or + [Country Code] [Phone Number].

Making a call using the Iridium GO! exec App

  • Using keypad option: To make calls using the keypad option go to Call › Keypad › Enter full international dialling sequence › Press Call. You can also opt to use the country flag dropdown menu on the screen for the country code list.

  • Using Contacts: Go to Call › Contacts › Search and select contact › Press Call

  • Quick Dial: The Iridium GO exec device supports the creation of a quick dial list for up to 10 contacts. Once created, the list gets synced to the device to enable quick access.

  • Set up Quick Dial list: Open Iridium GO exec App › Settings › Device Settings › Admin Settings › Quick Dial › Select Add Contact › Enter contact manually or select from Contacts › Save. The list gets synced to the device.

Making a call using the Iridium GO! exec Device

  • Using keypad option: To make calls using the keypad option go to Call › Keypad › Enter full dialling sequence › Press Call.

  • Using Quick Dial Contacts: Ensure your quick dial list is set up using the app, then go to Call › Quick Dial › Select Contact › Press Call

Important Note: To make outbound voice calls through the Iridium Go! exec App your device must be directly connected to the Iridium Go! exec device's Wi-Fi.

Outbound calling does not work when connected through DataHub Wi-Fi to the Iridium GO exec. Outbound calls will dial out and connect; however, no audio will be sent or received.

Inbound calls will be received through the App on your device and work as expected when connected via DataHub Wi-Fi.

DataHub

When using a GO exec with a DataHub to make an outbound call, please temporarily connect directly to Iridium GO exec Wi-Fi. Reconnect to DataHub Wi-Fi after making the call and forget the Iridium GO exec Wi-Fi network on your device to ensure it remains connected to DataHub Wi-Fi so that PredictMail and other DataHub services will work.

Recommendation: Have a dedicated phone on the boat for voice calls which is connected to GO exec Wi-Fi. This is simple, easy, and will work as expected. Install the GO exec and Offshore Apps on it and leave them open.

Receiving a voice call

The GO exec unit will ring on the unit to alert you to an inbound voice call. To answer it please tap on the touchscreen.

If your mobile device is connected to Iridium or DataHub Wi-Fi and you have the GO exec App open or in the background, it will also ring to alert you on your device. You can answer the call and place it on speaker.
