Once you have completed all 4 steps in the DataHub setup process, and if you have an NMEA 2000 (N2K) interface with your instruments, the DataHub Wifi network will be broadcasting N2K data including AIS data if available. Apps such as the Navionics Boating App can receive this data, and overlay on their maps. This is a great backup to your main chart plotter, as you can have a laptop running a navigation app receiving N2K data (including GPS position) direct from the DataHub Wifi.

The settings for the programs receiving this data can be found in the Datahub left menu NMEA and tab Settings.

The DataHub broadcasts the NMEA data over Wi-Fi by TCP or UDP. We recommend UDP.

How to configure Navionics to receive the NMEA feed:

  • You will need to be connected to the DataHub Wi-Fi to receive this data.

  • In the Navionics app go to menu then paired devices

  • Add a device by clicking the + then hit the Add device button

  • Enter HUB 10.10.10.1 11101 UDP

  • Note: If UDP doesn't work, you can use HUB 10.10.10.1 11102 TCP

How to configure Aquamaps to receive the NMEA feed:

  • You will need to be connected to the DataHub Wi-Fi to receive this data.

  • Configure your aquamap to use 10.10.10.1 IP address with UDP on port 11101

  • Go to settings

  • Select Wi-Fi settings

  • Click +

  • enter manually

  • UDP 10.10.10.1 11101
