Iridium GO! Setup Overview
The Iridium GO! is an essential safety communication device with global coverage. Plan and act ahead; do not wait to install it the week before departure. You should complete the setup at least a month before to have enough time for the installation and to become familiar with all the features.
To set up the GO! and install the Apps on your devices is a lengthy and necessary process involving many steps. Please carefully follow all the instructions to ensure you have the best experience using it.
Before you start
Set up at home or a location with high-speed Internet
It is simpler and quicker to set up at home or a place where you can access high-speed internet and multiple devices for downloading Apps onto and viewing these set-up steps.
Device Overview
Note the GO! SIM card number and IMEI or take photos of them
Before inserting the SIM card, either note down the SIM card number and device IMEI number or take photos of them with your phone. You will need this later to activate the GO! sim card. The IMEI number is printed on the sticker under the battery or on the side of the box that the Iridium GO! came in.
Insert the SIM card and battery
Remove the battery cover with a flat-blade screwdriver or a small coin.
Slide the SIM card holder towards the hinges and lift it to open.
Insert the SIM card into the slot so the gold contact side faces down and the cut-out corner is furthest from the hinges.
Close the cardholder and slide it away from the hinges to lock it. You should feel it click as it locks tight.
Insert the battery with the gold battery contacts facing down over the four connector contacts.
Replace the battery cover and tighten the screws firmly to create a water-resistant seal.
Fully charge your Iridium GO! device
Before using the device, it must be charged up fully using the USB Micro-B wall charger plugged directly into the Universal AC Travel charger or Car Charger. Please allow up to 4-5 hours for the device to fully charge. When it has finished charging, please remove the USB cable and close the USB cover to create a water-resistant seal.
