To get started with PredictWind Tracker App download the PredictWind Tracker App from the Google Playstore
You will need the following:
An Android Phone or GPS-enabled tablet
An Internet connection for your device.
A PredictWind Forecast Account on any subscription level (Free, Basic, Standard or Pro). You can create an account here
Upon launching the PredictWind Tracker App, if you have a PredictWind Forecast account, log in with your existing email address and password or create a new account.
The setup wizard will prompt you to create a GPS tracking page if you do not already have one. If you already have been set up with a tracking page, the PredictWind Tracker App will show your latest position as soon as a position report is received.
You can share you unique GPS tracking link, with family and friends, from within the PredictWind Tracker App. After starting you GPS tracking select the map in the top left hand corner then click the share button in the top right hand corner of the screen. Anyone with the link can paste this into their web browser to follow your progress. They do not need to be registered with PredictWind to have access to your page.
Android Setup for PredictWind Tracker App
Location Permission
Location Permission is required for the PredictWind Tracker App to track accurately and when it is in the background when using another App. Important Note: The App tracks only when you activate tracking in the App.
Upon opening, allow Location Permission:
Check in the top right corner that location permission: Allow all the time is selected
Make sure precise location is toggled On
How the PredictWind Tracker App works
When you tap Start, the app will send a position report every 15 minutes using your device's Internet connection. Positions uploaded can be viewed on your personalized PredictWind tracking page. Share the tracking page URL with friends, family, and followers so they can monitor your boat's position and route in real-time.
