You can configure the DataHub to prioritise your available internet connections in the order that best suits your setup. The example below shows how to configure an iPhone USB tether as the first priority, followed by Starlink over Wi-Fi, with Iridium retained as the final fallback.
Back up your DataHub configuration first
Before making any changes, we strongly recommend creating a configuration backup of your DataHub. When creating the backup, add a comment describing the current configuration before selecting Backup. This will allow you to restore your previous settings if required.
Set your preferred connection priority.
The settings below are an example only. You can choose a different priority order depending on which internet connections you have available and which you want the DataHub to use first. The Metric determines the priority: the lower the Metric number, the higher the priority.
Log in to the DataHub as superadmin, then go to:
Network → MultiWAN Manager → Member
In this example, we want the DataHub to prioritise an iPhone connected by USB tether, followed by Starlink over Wi-Fi.
For each connection, select Edit, change the Metric to the value shown below, then select Save:
USB tether: 1
WWAN / Wi-Fi: 2 — for your Starlink Wi-Fi connection
WAN: 3
WAN2: 4
LTE: 5
Leave the Weight set to 3 for all connections.
Important: Change all five Metric values during the same session before selecting Save & Apply. This prevents a temporary overlap or duplicate priority while you are changing the settings. Once you have updated all five connections, select Save & Apply.
With the settings above, the DataHub will prefer connections in this order:
USB tether → Starlink over Wi-Fi → WAN → WAN2 → LTE
If Iridium is configured, it is managed separately and remains the final least-cost fallback connection.

Check which connection is being used
After applying the changes, you can use the DataHub traffic information to confirm which internet connection is currently being used.
For example, with USB tether set to Metric 1, connect a device to the DataHub network and start using data, such as streaming a video. You should see the USB traffic counter increasing, confirming that the USB tether is being used as the highest-priority available internet connection.
If the USB tether becomes unavailable, the DataHub will move to the next available connection in the configured priority order.
