Model forecast calculations are based on an average over 1km square area as well as an average time. Therefore it does not account for gusts or lulls or short term wind shifts. These limitations apply to all weather models.

If you think the forecast is incorrect, make sure the wind strength is not getting affected by cloud activity, or is a short term gust.

Note: the wind forecast provided every hour represents an instantaneous value rather than a time average. It is a snapshot at the forecast time, meaning it represents the model's prediction of the wind at that exact hour, not an average over a period.
