Yes. PredictWind offers the Iridium GO! Complete Package, which includes a fixed installation kit external antenna. The external antenna is 12m / 39 ft in length.

Is buying or using an external antenna with the Iridium GO! necessary?

No. Buying an external antenna for the Iridium GO is not mandatory or necessary. That said, if you buy and install it in a good location on your boat and connect it to the Iridium GO! it will provide a stronger, more reliable signal than the internal antenna. PredictWind recommends customers buy, install and use the external antenna where possible for optimal performance.

Can I buy an extension for the Iridium GO! external antenna?

No. PredictWind does not offer or recommend attempting to extend the Iridium GO! external antenna. 12m is sufficient for most customer requirements and situations. If you find the cable length too short for your planned installation position, please contact us and provide photos of your boat so we can suggest an alternative location.

Can I cut the Iridium GO! external antenna cable to run it through a hole?

Yes. You can do this. The cables can be used when shorter. They cannot be extended longer than supplied. Cutting the cable will void the product warranty. Please bear that in mind before deciding to do it. The end connector is a TNC-M - for attaching a replacement connector.

No. At 2.4 kbit/second, the Iridium GO Internet connection speed is too slow to post to social media such as Instagram, Facebook or WhatsApp. Please consider buying an Iridium GO exec if you wish to do this. The GO exec is up to 40x faster than the GO and offers support for social media Apps.
