The DataHub Pro converts NMEA2000 (N2K) boat instrumentation data into NMEA0183 and broadcasts this over Wi-Fi and Ethernet by TCP and UDP. To receive this data feed into your Navigation App, connect your device to the DataHub Pro Wi-Fi or the DataHub Pro LAN Ethernet port and then configure your Navigational App to receive it.

With your Navigational App configured to receive the DataHub Pro NMEA0183 feed and a PredictWind Professional subscription, you can also use Over the Horizon AIS (OHA) to view AIS data up to a range of 300 nautical miles directly into your Navigation App.

Important Note: Over the Horizon AIS works with Time Zero however, you may find that vessel dimensions do not display for AIS targets in the App. PredictWind endeavoured to resolve this issue; however, it is not something we are pursuing further now. To avoid this limitation, please try Navionics, OpenCPN or AquaMaps.

How to configure TimeZero to receive NMEA0183 over Wi-Fi from the DataHub Pro

To configure TimeZero to receive NMEA0183 over Wi-Fi from the DataHub Pro:

  1. Connect your laptop or device to DataHub Pro Wi-Fi.

  2. Open TimeZero.

  3. In the TimeZero menu, click on Connection Wizard.

  4. Choose Manual Port Configuration.

  5. Select Add/Configure UDP (or TCP) connection (NMEA0183)

Select the IP address of your computer connected to the corresponding Ethernet card (127.0.0.1) and enter the port number: 11101.

  6. Click Next.

  7. The next page of the Wizard will display a list of the ports configured on the left with the port you just added/modified; select the Port you have added for the DataHub Pro.
(Note the example picture below does not show the DataHub Pro as the Ethernet port configuration is not available as a screenshot in the TimeZero manual. If you can send us a screenshot, we'd appreciate it!)

On the right, every data type detected is automatically checked. Note that you can uncheck data types on specific ports if you don't want to use them.

  8. Click Next and finish the wizard.
