What is wave height?
Wave height is the mean wave height from the trough to the crest of the highest third of the wave, known as the significant wave height. The significant wave height is generated from the primary swell and the local wind wave. As the significant wave height is an average, it is possible that you may encounter a wave that is roughly double the significant wave height depending on the conditions.
What is wave period?
Wave Period is the time in seconds it takes for two successive crests (one wavelength) to pass a specified point.
