If you are seeing Purple Maps and zero wind speed on your computer or the Map graphs look strange using the forecast website https://forecast.predictwind.com/

For example,

We recently upgraded our graphics library to bring in exciting new features like lightning strikes and weather alerts. Unfortunately, this means older devices like yours may struggle to keep up. I know it’s frustrating, but updates like these are necessary as technology moves forward.

There are three solutions you can try:

  1. The issue may be due to your computer having an older or incompatible graphics driver, which Google Chrome blocks due to potential security risks. Other browsers, such as Firefox, do not appear to have the same restrictions. Are you able to update your machine's graphics driver, and if successful, then re-attempt to use the forecast website using Google Chrome again?

  2. Another option is to check hardware acceleration in Chrome settings. This change may fix the issue, however it also reduces the smoothness of animation. Try turning it OFF, To do this, go to Chrome settings and search for hardware acceleration. You should find the applicable settings to disable.

  3. Use another browser such as Safari or Firefox.
