HRRR is not available as a standalone model option for Weather Routing in PredictWind.
When you view the GFS model for Weather Routing, the models used to calculate the route depend on whether your route is within an area covered by the high-resolution NAM model.
GFS Weather Routing within NAM coverage
If your route is within an area where the NAM model is available:
The NAM 5 km high-resolution model is used for the first 3.5 days of the route.
The GFS 25 km model is then used through to day 10.
If your route extends beyond 10 days, the ECMWF Ensemble is used to complete the route from day 10 through to day 30.
GFS Weather Routing outside NAM coverage
If your route is outside an area where the NAM model is available:
The GFS 25 km model is used from day 1 through to day 10.
If your route extends beyond 10 days, the ECMWF Ensemble is used to complete the route from day 10 through to day 30.
Therefore, although you may see HRRR available elsewhere in PredictWind for viewing forecast data, it is not available as a model selection for Weather Routing.
