Why Am I Not Seeing Wave or Tide Data for My Forecast Location?

Wave and tide data availability depends on where your saved forecast location is positioned. You may see this data for one forecast location but not for another.

Wave data

Wave data should be available in the Daily Briefing, Forecast Tables, and Forecast Graphs for each forecast location that is positioned offshore in clear, open ocean.

If you can see wave data for one saved location but not for another, check the position of the location that is missing wave data.

If the forecast location is on land, very close to the coastline, or within a constrained inland waterway, wave data may not be available.

Try moving or creating the forecast location slightly farther offshore in open water, then check the forecast again.

Tide data

If you are not seeing high and low tide data in the Daily Briefing or Forecast Tables, check that you are viewing the correct forecast location in the PredictWind App.

Tide data may not be available if your saved forecast location is positioned inland. Try selecting a forecast location closer to the coast and check the forecast again.

PredictWind uses a global tidal system that combines satellite data with information from tidal stations provided by hydrographic offices around the world.

As tidal stations are not available at every PredictWind forecast location, the system uses data from the nearest available tidal station.

If you are not seeing high and low tide data in the Daily Briefing or Forecast Tables, first check that you are viewing the correct forecast location. The position of your saved forecast location can determine whether tidal data is displayed. If the location is positioned inland or too far from the coast, tidal data may not be available.

Try selecting or creating a forecast location closer to the coast, then check the forecast again.
