How to use GO exec PredictWind Plan AnyApp Data

You can chat with your friends and family with WhatsApp or browse the Internet with your GO exec PredicWind Plan for up to one hour at a time by turning on AnyApp Data through the Offshore App.

Before you start

  • Do you have the PredictWind Data Plan?

    This article applies to customers subscribed to the GO exec PredictWind Plan. You can read more about the PredictWind Plan or change to it now.

  • Purchase an AnyApp Data bundle top-up or check if it has a remaining balance.

    To use AnyApp Data, you must buy a top-up first, and it must have a remaining megabyte balance. To top up or before you head offshore, log in to the Satellite Portal and click Top Up. You can also check your Remaining MB balance, e.g. 9 MB, pictured below.

  • Check your Offshore App version is v 7.1.1 or later, and update it if required. Please review this page to update the Offshore App on all your devices.

Important Note: During a one-hour AnyApp Data session, all data transferred through your GO exec uses your AnyApp data balance. This includes WhatsApp, web browsing and PredictWind Apps such as the Offshore App, PredictMail, GPS Tracking and Blog updates.

TIP: To get the best value from your AnyApp Data, please download any GRIBs or routes first, send any PredictMail emails or update your tracking blog before activating AnyApp data for one hour.

Activate AnyApp Data for one hour in the Offshore App

Please click on the link below for device specific instructions to activate one hour of Any AppData in the Offshore App:

iOS - iPhone / iPad - Activate Any AppData

  • Open the Offshore App

  • Tap Preferences.

  • Under Download Methods, tap Iridium GO! exec.

  • Under AnyApp Data, tap Turn On.

  • Tap Turn On, then tap Download All, and when it has completed, tap Close. Please allow around a minute for the GO exec to connect and activate AnyApp Data.

    Congratulations! You have now enabled PredictWind Any App Data for one hour! Please read the Frequently Asked Questions for important information about how to get the best value from your AnyApp Data bundle.

Important Note: After activating AnyApp Data, please set your GO exec to the correct Web/App Profile for the App you wish to use, e.g. WhatsApp Text. Please review how to use WhatsApp or Web/App Profiles for more information.

Using the GO exec touchscreen or GO exec App, you can either select the Web/App profile to switch to immediately or, if that is not successful, disconnect and reconnect the Internet connection on your GO exec with the correct Web/App profile selected.

Mac OS - Activate AnyApp Data

  • Open the Offshore App.

  • Click the PredictWind Offshore menu and select Settings.

  • Click GO! exec

  • Click Turn ON.

  • On the window which pops up, click Turn On.

  • Click Download All, and when it has completed, click Close. Please allow around a minute for the GO exec to connect and activate AnyApp Data.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Apps use AnyApp Data?

During a AnyApp Data session, all data transferred by any App to the Internet through your GO exec uses your AnyApp data balance. This includes WhatsApp, web browsing and PredictWind Apps such as the Offshore App, PredictMail, GPS Tracking and Blog updates.

Important Note: To get the best value from your AnyApp Data, please download any GRIBs or routes first, send any PredictMail emails or update your blog using your unlimited PredictWind data before activating AnyApp data for one hour, or Turn Off your active AnyApp Data session.

How long is my AnyApp Data session active for?

Upon activation, an AnyApp Data session is open for one hour. After one hour, it is automatically deactivated. To continue using AnyApp Data after one hour, turn on another Any App Data hour again.

My AnyApp Data has run out. How can I top-up

AnyApp Data can be topped up by logging in to the Satellite Portal and clicking Top Up. You can also check your Remaining MB balance, e.g. 9 MB, pictured below.

If your AnyApp Data runs out while offshore, you could either call or use your unlimited PredictMail to ask a shore-based contact to log in to your Satellite Portal and purchase the top-up for you or email support@predictwind.com, and we'll do it for you.

My AnyApp Data has gone negative. Why is that?

Your AnyApp data balance can become negative because there is a delay between data usage and metering being counted and updated to your AnyApp data balance. If your balance is negative, you won't be able to activate AnyApp data until you top it back up to positive again.

How can I turn off or deactivate my AnyApp Data?

AnyApp Data is automatically deactivated after one hour; you do not need to do anything.

Important Note: At this time, sessions that expire automatically after one hour do not reflect this in the Offshore App, so if you let your AnyApp Data session expire automatically after an hour, you will need to submit a request to Turn Off AnyApp data in the Offshore App before you can activate a new session. This will be resolved in the next update to the Offshore App.

To manually deactivate an AnyApp data session early so you can download GRIBs or send PredictMail etc., using your unlimited PredictWind Data immediately, open the Offshore App, then:

iOS - iPhone/Pad - turn off or deactivate AnyApp Data

  • Tap Preferences, Iridium! GO exec, Turn Off.

Mac OS - turn off or deactivate AnyApp Data

  • Click the PredictWind Offshore menu and select Settings.

  • Click GO! exec.

  • Click Turn OFF.

  • Click Download All and when it has completed, click Close.

Windows 10/11 - turn off or deactivate AnyApp Data

  • Click the File menu and select Preferences.

  • Click GO! exec.

  • Click Turn OFF.

  • Click Download All and when it has completed, click Close.
