Tables are available for everyone in the PredictCurrent App. One location can be saved to view the Tables page in PredictCurrent Free. PredictCurrent Pro subscribers can save up to 12 locations.

The second row of the Tables screen displays forecast warnings for the set location at the forecast time. Warning indicators include:

  • Lightning Index

  • CAPE Index

  • Rain Squalls

  • Extreme Gusts

  • Wind against current

The examples below show Wind Chill and Gust warnings.

What conditions trigger the extreme weather warnings?

Warning

Trigger / Definition

Exceptions/Note

Gust

If the wind gusts are over 50% more than the forecast wind speed,

E.g. The Forecast wind is 20 knots with Gusts over 30 knots.

A forecast wind of less than 12 knots will not trigger Gust warnings.

The warning will always be triggered if the Gust exceeds 40 knots.

Rain Squall

If rain is 3mm/hour or more AND Gust is 25 knots or greater.

Thunderstorm

If Temp < 20 degrees Celcius and CAPE < 1000, it triggers a warning.

If Temp > 20deg Celcius < 30deg and CAPE < 2000 triggers a warning.

Temp > 30deg & CAPE >3000 triggers a warning.

Wind Chill

Where the forecast air temperature is 8 degrees Celsius or less, it triggers a Wind Chill warning.

Lightning

Any Lightning value greater than zero.

The unit for lightning strikes is how many strikes per 100 square kilometres around your location.

Any number above 0 forecasts potential lightning. The larger the value, the greater the lightning potential is.

Fog

Any Fog value greater than 0.25 AND less than 0.75.

Fog & Rime

Any Fog value greater than 0.75
