The PredictWind Weather Router uses Depth Avoidance rather than traditional land avoidance. To achieve this, PredictWind has acquired 2m/5m/10m/20m/30m depth contours for the entire world.

In the Weather Routing Preferences, you can set depth avoidance to Land, 2m, 5m, 10m, 20m, or 30m. The optimal weather route should be revised for navigational purposes. It is the user's responsibility to modify the route to avoid navigational hazards.

If you find the weather router cannot calculate a route or the routing calculated is odd, please move your start/ finish waypoints into deeper water. You can also try adjusting this setting to the lowest safe setting for your boat or adding waypoints to your course in deeper water.
