To connect to the Iridium network and activate a voice call or data connection, the GO exec LED light must be pulsing GREEN, and sufficient satellite coverage bars must be available to initiate and sustain the connection. 1-2 bars of coverage is insufficient.

At least 3 bars of coverage are required. Ideally, 4 to 5 bars of consistent coverage is necessary to initiate and sustain a voice or data connection. This may not be possible in port or at an urban home, particularly using the Internal Antenna.

If the GO exec LED pulses RED for more than one minute after being powered on, it has failed to register its SIM card with the Iridium network, and the transceiver has been deactivated. Even though satellite signal bars may now show coverage, the device cannot connect. The GO exec will not attempt SIM registration again until prompted or rebooted.

To wake up the transceiver and trigger it to attempt sim-card registration:

  • Please move to a location with a clear view of the sky and horizon, or connect an installed external antenna.

  • Lower the internal antenna.

  • Tap Cancel on the touchscreen to prevent auto-shutdown.

  • Move outside to an area with a clear view of the sky and horizon or connect an external antenna.

  • Raise the internal antenna again.

Alternatively, power off and power on the GO exec again. If you see the LED flash green and 3-5 bars of coverage available, your device can connect.

If this does not resolve the issue, please check:

1. The SIM card is inserted correctly

To insert the SIM card correctly into the Iridium GO exec:

  • The 'gold' chip contact side must face down, and the white side faces up, with the corner cut off towards the paddle antenna.

  • Insert the SIM fully and push gently until you hear a soft click. You may need to use your fingernail.

  • Check the edge of the SIM card sits flush in the socket. If you can remove the sim card without pushing it in first, it needs to be re-inserted correctly.

2. The SIM card has been activated

SIM cards must be activated through the PredictWind Satellite portal before they will work. This includes choosing a GO exec monthly plan. Please review Step 2: Activate the Iridium GO! exec SIM card for activation instructions.

3. Reboot the Iridium GO exec

Please power off the device and power it on again with the external antenna connected or where the internal antenna can find good signal strength. i.e. outdoors with a clear view of the sky and horizon.
