The DataHub Pro has a 2.4 Ghz Wi-Fi network built in, which, by default, is configured as available to connect to other 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks.
In the first instance, please see this article for a step-by-step guide to connecting your DataHub Pro to a Wi-Fi network or hotspot.
If you are unable to connect to your chosen Wi-Fi network successfully, please verify the following:
The Wi-Fi password is correct
The most common reason the DataHub Pro cannot connect to your Wi-Fi is because the password is incorrect. Some keyboards, particularly on mobile or tablet devices, capitalize the first letter of the password discretely.
To validate your password, click on the * grey box button to reveal your password. Check it and amend it if required, and click the CONNECT button.
It is not necessary to click SAVE & APPLY.
Unable to see Wi-Fi hotspot on a mobile phone
The best way to use your mobile device as a hotspot is via a USB tethering charging cable. To connect your mobile via a USB tether to the DataHub Pro please see details here for iPhone / iPad and Android.
If you still wish to connect the DataHub Pro to the Wi-Fi hotspot on your mobile phone, and the DataHub Pro cannot see it, check that the hotspot is enabled in your device settings and that your device is configured to provide a 2.4GHz network the DataHub Pro can connect to.
iOS - enable 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi for mobile hotspot tethering
Open your iOS device Settings.
Tap Personal Hotspot.
Check Allow Others to Join is enabled. If enabled turn it off for ten seconds, then turn it on again.
Enable Maximize Compatibility mode.
Click Refresh on the DataHub Pro Services > Settings > Wi-Fi page.
Android - enable 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi for mobile hotspot tethering
Open your Android device Settings.
Tap Network and Internet > Hotspot and tethering > Wi-Fi hotspot.
Check Use Wi-Fi hotspot is enabled. If enabled turn it off for ten seconds, then turn it on again.
Tap Speed and compatibility and check that 2.4 and 5GHz is enabled.
Click Refresh on the DataHub Pro Services > Settings > Wi-Fi page.
Note: Android steps and setting names will vary by manufacturer and version. The above is from an Android 14 device, which has 2.4Ghz enabled by default. Please search your manufacturer's website if these steps do not work on your device.
Unable to see Wi-Fi hotspot on other Wi-Fi networks
It is possible, but unlikely, that the Wi-Fi hotspot you are connecting to is only available in 5 GHz. Important note: Please see the notes above to connect the DataHub Pro to a mobile device hotspot.
By default, the DataHub Pro uses the 2.4 Ghz Wi-Fi network to connect to other networks; however, it is possible to swap the Wi-Fi networks on your DataHub Pro so the 2.4 GHz network is available for your local devices to connect to, and your 5 GHz can be used to join a Wi-Fi hotspot or network.
Please be aware that the DataHub Pro can no longer join other 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi networks once swapped. This will mean the DataHub Pro will not be able to connect to Iridium GO!, Iridium GO exec and many other Wi-Fi networks. You will also need to reconnect all your existing devices to the DataHub Pro 2.4Ghz network.
To swap the Wi-Fi profiles on the DataHub Pro:
Click the Settings menu.
Click the top menu Profiles.
Click Install on the Swap WiFi row.
Please allow around one minute for the new profile to apply, and reconnect to DataHub Pro Wi-Fi to log in to the DataHub Pro again. It is not necessary to click SAVE & APPLY.
When you have logged in again, click the Wi-Fi menu. The 5 GHz network will now be available to connect to your Wi-Fi network. Remember to reconnect all your existing devices to the DataHub Pro 2.4 GHz network.
