If your boat has multiple devices outputting data for GPS position, heading, depth, or wind, enabling NMEA 2000 (N2K) filters on the DataHub Pro can be very useful. This feature lets you choose which device the DataHub Pro should use as its only source of N2K data. The selected data is then shared over the DataHub Pro's Wi-Fi and LAN as an NMEA 0183 data stream.
Using N2K filters can help resolve issues such as incorrect or flickering information displayed due to conflicting information from different sources. You might notice this on the DataHub Pro NMEA > GPS or Navigation pages, or in navigation apps like AquaMap, OpenCPN, and Navionics. Filters are recommended if you use the DataHub Pro’s autopilot feature to ensure the DataHub Pro shares accurate and stable data.
To use N2K filters on the DataHub Pro
Connect to DataHub Pro Wi-Fi or an Ethernet cable plugged into the LAN port.
Open a Chrome or Safari browser and type 10.10.10.1 in the URL bar.
Log in with the default username admin and password admin.
Under the Services menu, click NMEA.
On the NMEA Setting page, click on Advanced.
Tick the checkbox to Enable N2K filters.
Click the drop-down boxes and select the correct GPS address, Heading, Depth and Wind sensors for the DataHub Pro. Leave the drop-down box blank to use all available sensors.
Click Save & Apply.
In the example below, a GPS and Wind Sensor has been selected.
