PredictWind Mode helps you control your Starlink data usage offshore by blocking background and non-essential Internet traffic while keeping supported PredictWind apps and DataHub services connected.
When using metered Starlink data offshore, phones, tablets, computers and other devices onboard can continue using data in the background for updates, cloud syncing and other Internet activity. This can quickly add to your data usage without you realising it.
With PredictWind Mode enabled on your DataHub or DataHub Pro, this non-essential Internet traffic is blocked while supported services such as the PredictWind App, Offshore App, GPS Tracking, AI Polars, Anchor Alert, Whale Watch, Over the Horizon AIS and PredictMail can continue to use your Starlink connection.
PredictWind Mode works alongside Total Data Usage, which lets you monitor Internet consumption across your whole boat and see how much data each connected device is using. Together, these tools help you reduce unnecessary data use and identify where your Starlink data is being spent.
Note: PredictWind Mode does not compress PredictWind data or limit how much data PredictWind services can use.
