Forecast Tables display detailed forecast data for your selected location and allow you to compare multiple weather models side by side. When several models show similar conditions, this provides greater confidence in the forecast.
The tables include global forecast models PWG, PWE, GFS, ECMWF, AIFS, UKMO, PWAi, and ICON, along with regional high-resolution models such as PWG, PWE, AROME, UKMO, ICON, NAM, and HRRR, where available.
Some models display different forecast resolutions depending on how far ahead you are viewing. The higher-resolution data is used for the earlier part of the forecast, before transitioning to lower-resolution data for the longer-range forecast.
For PWG and PWE, the first 24 hours display 1 km resolution forecast data, followed by 8 km resolution data for days 2–7. UKMO displays 2 km resolution data for the first 5 days, before transitioning to 15 km resolution data for days 5–7. ICON also transitions between 2 km, 7 km, and 13 km resolution forecast data, depending on the forecast period and coverage.
Regional high-resolution models AROME, NAM and HRRR are different, as they are displayed as separate model rows in the Forecast Tables rather than transitioning within another model.
How to view Forecast Tables
Open the PredictWind App and select your forecast location.
From the main menu, under Forecasts, select Tables.
Compare the available forecast models side by side and swipe the table left or right to view the forecast throughout the forecast period.
Night shading
Grey columns in the Forecast Tables indicate nighttime hours at your selected forecast location. This makes it easier to distinguish between daytime and nighttime conditions when reviewing the forecast.
Night shading can be turned on or off from the Forecast Table settings.
Condense a forecast variable
You can condense any forecast variable into a single summary row by tapping anywhere within that variable's rows. Tap the row again to expand it and view the individual forecast models.
When condensed, the summary is calculated by averaging the available forecast models while excluding outliers, giving you a quick overview of the general forecast consensus for that variable.
Customise the Forecast Tables
Open the Settings menu by selecting the settings wheel in the top right-hand corner of the Forecast Tables to customise what is displayed.
From here you can:
Toggle individual forecast variables on or off to choose which rows are displayed.
Turn Night Shading on or off.
Choose how wind direction is displayed: Arrow, Number (degrees), or Cardinal direction (for example, NE or W).
Toggle individual forecast models on or off.
We recommend keeping all available forecast models turned on. Comparing multiple models allows you to look for consensus between the forecasts, rather than relying on a single weather model.
