You can create a YB Connect Account to enable the sending and receiving of SMS messages with the YB3i, and messaging with the YB3i works on a credit system. You create an account with YB, called a 'YB Connect Account'.
We highly recommend this feature, as the YB3i then becomes a backup communication device for SMS should your primary satellite system have problems.
Please note; This is a separate service to PredictWind and PredictWind has no control over this account or the SMS functionality.
To set up a YB Connect Account:
Download the app from the Apple or Google Play Stores
Select the tracker serial number (while it is turned on) from the list of selectable units (should be only your unit)
The YB Connect App is designed to be used with a YB Tracker, but a YB3i can also use the App. This next step is very important -When prompted, you MUST select 'No, this is someone else's tracker' as this will open up the message features. If you select 'Yes this is my tracker', then you will need to enter a pin that is not available with the YB3i. All settings in the YB3i are set as defaults and the tracking frequency cannot be changed.
Once you have chosen 'No, this is someone else's tracker', click 'Enable Messaging'
This is the login page. Select 'create Connect Account' and follow the prompts.
Once created, then you can go to 'My Account' then 'Manage Credits' to add credits
Once added, you can begin texting/emailing plain text messages (No fonts, pictures, or attachments can be sent).
