If your boat's position is incorrect in the Anchor Alert App on the Map page, or it hops around on the Anchor Map, it may be because:

1. The DataHub receives positions from multiple GPS sources

If the DataHub receives positions from multiple GPS sources, it can cause a jitter in the boat position. What you see in the app reflects the rapid changing between different GPS positions. Enabling NMEA2000 / N2K filtering in the DataHub resolves this.

To enable N2K filters on the DataHub:

  1. Connect to DataHub Wi-Fi and log in to the DataHub on 10.10.10.1.

  2. Click on NMEA > Settings > Advanced.

  3. Tick Enable N2K Filters.

  4. Click the drop-down box next to GPS Address and select your most accurate GPS source.

  5. Untick Internal GPS so your DataHub will only sample positions from the boat GPS.

  6. Click SAVE & APPLY.

Important Note: The GPS source must remain powered on while the Anchor Alert App monitors your boat position.

2. The Anchor Alert App may not support NMEA0183 sentences from your preferred GPS source.

NMEA-coded sentences from GPS sources are not standardized. Many different GPS devices are on the market, and support has been added to accommodate them. If you experience this issue, please let us know. We are continuing to add support for all the various NMEA sentences used by different manufacturers.

If you have another GPS source available, please try selecting that as the enabled N2K Filter GPS source.

Please contact our friendly support team via the in-app messenger available in the Anchor App Settings (cog top right of screen) > Other > Support or email at support@PredictWind.com.
