AIS targets captured by Satellites are viewable in the Offshore App within a 300 nautical mile radius of your green start weather routing position.

Simply select the AIS box (Image 1) select NEXT and download with your Weather Routing and GRIBs etc.

Picture this scenario: cruising at 10 knots, you spot a container ship approaching at 25 knots. With conventional AIS, you have a mere 8.5 minutes to react. However, with this feature you gain 8.5 hours of advanced warning. Also a great way of missing fishing fleets well in advance.

Image 2, shows a fishing fleet mid ocean on a passage NZ to Fiji, by selecting an AIS target it provides greater detail. You have the ability to toggle AIS on and off.

This is NOT a replacement for your onboard AIS Transponder, however it is a fantastic addition.
