DataHub Pro : Status Lights

What do the lights mean on the DataHub Pro?

Written by Matt Crockett

The DataHub Pro provides status LEDs on its top cover that indicate the status of the GPS feed, internet connectivity, and whether GPS position reports stored on the device have not yet been sent to PredictWind.

The DataHub Pro has four LEDs, coloured blue, orange, green and yellow.

Power - Blue LED

A solid blue LED light indicates that the DataHub Pro is powered on.

Orange LED - Internet

The DataHub Pro orange LED shows a solid orange light when the DataHub Pro is connected to the Internet via any means except Iridium. The orange LED blinks when there is no Internet connection.

Green LED - GPS Tracking report status

The DataHub Pro green LED shows a solid green light when GPS tracking is up to date and there are no pending positions to be uploaded. The green LED blinks when GPS reports are pending on the DataHub Pro. The DataHub Pro will automatically send the position reports and the green LED will show a solid light when it is next connected to the Internet and all pending position reports have been uploaded.

Yellow LED - GPS Status

The DataHub Pro yellow LED shows a solid yellow light when the DataHub GPS status is ACTIVE, indicating a valid, current GPS position. The yellow LED blinks when the GPS status is VOID and there is no valid GPS source.

To resolve a blinking yellow DataHub Pro LED light, indicating a VOID GPS status, see the article DataHub Pro GPS tracking not working.

White LED - Boot Status

A blinking white LED means the DataHub Pro is starting up.

A solid white LED means the DataHub Pro has finished booting and is operating normally.

Red LED - Firmware Update

A blinking red LED means a DataHub Pro firmware update is in progress.

Do not power off or disconnect the DataHub Pro while the red LED is blinking during a firmware update.

Alternating Red and White LEDs - Man Overboard Alert

If you have a PredictWind Professional subscription logged into your DataHub Pro on the Account Page, and you have enabled Man Overboard, then pressing the Man Overboard button under the red side cover activates a Man Overboard alert.

During an active Man Overboard alert, the red and white LEDs flash alternately to provide a clear visual indication and a Man Overboard Waypoint will appear on your N2K connected chartplotter.
