Frequently Asked Questions

How do I change the boat icon displayed for my boat on GPS Tracking?

To change the boat icon displayed on your GPS tracking page:

  1. Open the PredictWind Forecast website logged into your PredictWind account.

  2. Select Weather Routing > Sail Routing / Power Routing > Routing Preferences.

  3. If you have a Sail Boat: under Boat Types > Predefined > Select the Predefined Boat Polar most suitable for your boat i.e. exact boat or generic Sail boat, catamaran etc.

  4. If you have a Power Boat: under Weather Routing > Power Routing > Routing Preferences > Select the right hull type under Boat Dimensions e.g. Power Monohull.

How do I limit the GPS Tracking displayed for anyone who views my GPS Tracking page?

To limit the GPS tracking all users can see on your GPS Tracking page:

  1. Open the PredictWind Forecast website logged into your PredictWind account.

  2. Select Tools > GPS Tracking > Preferences

  3. Set Track Duration to desired length, e.g. All Time, 1 - 90 days, 1 - 2 years.

The Predicted Track is confusing because I am running routes for future destinations. Can I turn this feature off?

No. At this time, it is not possible to disable your Predicted Track based on the last Weather Route run in the Forecast Website. We are working to add this level of control and much more to your GPS tracking page. We're still adding control and features to GPS tracking, so please stay tuned.

For now, people can turn off the predicted track only while viewing the page by opening Map Layers > Map Filters > Automatic Routing.
