When a Man Overboard (MOB) alert activates, your first priority is to follow your vessel's MOB procedure and confirm whether the person is safely on board.
Dismiss an alert on your device
When a MOB warning or alert appears, tap Dismiss. This:
Stops the audible and vibrating alert on your device.
Removes the alert from your screen so you can concentrate on the situation.
Tapping Dismiss does not cancel the MOB event.
Other crew devices, DataHub Pro, your chartplotter, and any alerts already sent to contacts ashore are separate parts of the MOB workflow.
If the person is safely onboard
If the alert was caused by a Wi-Fi disconnection, flat battery or another false alarm:
Confirm the person is safely onboard.
Reconnect their phone or watch to DataHub Pro Wi-Fi if required.
Open the Man Overboard app.
Turn Monitoring Off on the affected device.
Check Crew Status to confirm the expected monitoring state.
You can turn Monitoring On again when that crew member's device is ready for monitoring.
If the system does not return to normal
If you cannot use the device to turn monitoring off, use FLUSH MOB on DataHub Pro to clear the current MOB state.
On DataHub Pro:
Connect to DataHub Pro Wi-Fi.
Open Chrome or Safari and go to 10.10.10.1.
Log in using your admin credentials.
Go to Services → Man Overboard → Settings.
Click FLUSH MOB.
FLUSH MOB clears the MOB device table and any active alarms.
Devices that should continue to be monitored must register with the DataHub Pro again by turning Monitoring On.
Check that everything is back to normal
After recovering from an MOB alert or using FLUSH MOB:
Confirm everyone is safely onboard.
Check each required phone or watch is connected to DataHub Pro Wi-Fi.
Turn Monitoring On for the crew who should be monitored.
Check Crew Status in the app.
If needed, check Services → Man Overboard → Status on DataHub Pro and confirm the expected devices show MONITORING.
Do not assume that dismissing an alert on one device means the complete MOB event has been cancelled or that every other alert has been cleared.
