Iridium GO exec airtime plans operate on a fixed monthly billing cycle from the 17th of each month at 00:00 GMT until the 16th of the following month at 23:59 GMT.
If you activate your Iridium GO exec SIM partway through a billing cycle, your airtime plan charge for that first billing period is prorated for the remaining days in the billing cycle.
On the next 17th of the month, your plan renews and you are charged for the full monthly airtime plan.
Can I activate and deactivate within the same billing cycle?
No. You cannot activate and deactivate an Iridium GO exec airtime plan within the same billing cycle.
For example, if you activate on September 16, you will only be charged the prorated airtime plan rate for the remaining time in the current billing cycle. On September 17, a new billing cycle begins and you will be charged for the full monthly airtime plan.
You can then request deactivation during the new billing cycle, which runs from September 17 at 00:00 GMT to October 16 at 23:59 GMT, to prevent the plan from renewing again on October 17.
However, if you activate on September 17, you cannot activate and deactivate during that same billing cycle. Your service must remain active into the next billing cycle.
How can I minimise my airtime charges?
If you only need your Iridium GO exec airtime plan for a short period, you can minimise the initial prorated charge by activating close to the end of a billing cycle.
For example, activating on September 16 means you are charged the prorated airtime rate for the remaining time until the billing cycle ends at 23:59 GMT on September 16.
The plan then renews on September 17, when you are charged for the full monthly airtime plan. You can request deactivation during this billing cycle to prevent another monthly renewal on October 17.
Once you have been charged for a full monthly billing cycle, there are no refunds for unused days if you deactivate before the end of that billing cycle.
When are overage charges billed?
If your usage exceeds the allowance included with your airtime plan, overage charges are calculated and charged at the end of the billing cycle.
