You can access PredictWind forecasts in several ways. Your PredictWind forecast subscription can be used across the Forecast Website, PredictWind App, and PredictWind Offshore App.
PredictWind Forecast Website
The PredictWind Forecast Website is accessed through a web browser such as Chrome or Safari on your PC or Mac and requires a full internet connection.
The Forecast Website is location-based. Add or select a forecast location to view detailed forecast information for that area.
It is also the main platform for managing your forecast subscription and billing, as well as setting up and managing your boat polars for Weather Routing.
PredictWind App
The PredictWind App is available for Apple and Android mobile devices.
The App is designed for use with a high-speed internet connection such as Wi-Fi, cellular 4G/5G, or Starlink. Like the Forecast Website, it is location-based, allowing you to add locations and view forecasts for those areas.
PredictWind Offshore App
The PredictWind Offshore App is available for Windows, Mac, Apple, and Android devices and is designed specifically for downloading weather data for use offshore.
The Offshore App allows you to select and download compressed GRIB weather data, Weather Routing, and other forecast information using your available internet connection. This could be Wi-Fi, cellular, Starlink, or a compatible satellite connection such as an Iridium GO! or Iridium GO exec.
Downloaded forecast data is stored locally on your device, allowing you to continue viewing it when you are offline or no longer have an internet connection.
The Offshore App also gives you control over the weather models, forecast variables, forecast period, and geographic area you download. This allows you to manage the size of your downloads and reduce data usage, whether you are using a low-bandwidth satellite connection or simply want to conserve data on a connection such as Starlink.
