If your Iridium GO exec displays the message “Low-power charger detected. Some features may not be available,” the connected power supply is providing less power than the device expects.
The Iridium GO exec is supplied with a USB-C 5V, 3A power adaptor. We recommend using the supplied Iridium power adaptor whenever possible.
Can I use a lower-powered charger?
A lower-powered charger, such as a 2A USB power supply, can still charge the Iridium GO exec, but charging may be slower and you may continue to see the low-power charger warning.
If you are using a 2A power supply, keep an eye on the battery charge level and confirm that the battery continues to charge while the Iridium GO exec is plugged in.
Using another USB power supply onboard
If you are powering the Iridium GO exec from another USB socket onboard, we recommend using a high-quality USB power supply capable of providing 3A.
If installing a dedicated USB power socket, ensure it is correctly installed and appropriately fused for your vessel's electrical system.
Using the supplied 5V, 3A Iridium power adaptor is the best way to ensure the Iridium GO exec receives the expected power and to avoid the low-power charger warning.
