PredictWind uses two initial conditions sources to generate two separate forecasts. Comparing the PredictWind forecasts (PWG or PWE) will give you confidence in the forecast. For extra confidence we also have the ECMWF, GFS, SPIRE & UKMO models for comparison. This is easily visible within the graphs.
In this example we have 3 models are in agreement early on, so would exclude the outlier. But are similar for the rest of the forecast.
If there is consesus in the forecast results you can have a high degree of confidence in the forecast. If the forecasts are different, we recommend that you choose the model that is best matching the wind observations.
