PredictWind supplies SIM cards for both the Iridium GO! and the Iridium GO exec devices. Only Iridium SIM cards purchased from PredictWind can be activated in our Satellite Portal. Please note that the Iridium SIM cards are device-specific and are not interchangeable.
Iridium GO exec
An Iridium GO exec SIM card can only be used in the Iridium GO exec device. Iridium GO exec SIM cards can be purchased online at https://shop.predictwind.com/shop/product/iridium-exec-sim-card
Iridium GO exec SIM cards CAN be reactivated in the future, so there is no need to buy multiple SIM cards. Every time you reactivate an exec SIM card you will pay an activation fee.
Iridium GO! unit
An Iridium GO! SIM card can be used in an Iridium GO! unit (model number: 9560). Iridium GO! SIM cards can be purchased online at https://shop.predictwind.com/shop/product/iridium-sim-card Previously used Iridium GO! SIM cards cannot be reactivated, we recommend you purchase a couple of spare cards for future use. An activation fee applies to each SIM activation.
Other Iridium phones
If you have an Iridium 9505, 9555 or Extreme 9575, the PredictWind Iridium GO! SIM card is compatible with these models. The associated airtime plans will work on the phone. For example, if you choose the Iridium GO! “Unlimited” plan, you will receive unlimited SMS, 150 voice minutes per calendar month, and unlimited Iridium data.
Please note, PredictWind Iridium GO! SIM cards do not work in a Motorola Iridium 9500 sat phone as the SIM card is much larger than the new SIM card profiles.
If you are using an Iridium 9505, 9555 or Extreme 9575, to be able to download GRIB data and Weather routes into the Offshore App you can either use an Optimizer, to enable direct downloads, or you will need to use a satellite email address so you can download the files via email request. Please note, we do not sell or support any issues with the 9505, 9555 or Extreme 9575 phone itself, but we will support any SIM-related issues and Offshore App questions. Any phone hardware or software issues would need to be addressed with the company you purchased the unit from.
