Connection Policy - How the DataHub sends and receives email
When your device is connected to the DataHub, your email client and PredictChat App connect to the DataHub to send and receive messages. Messages are temporarily stored in the DataHub Inbox and Outbox. Based on the PredictMail Connection Policy, the DataHub connects to send and receive messages through any available Internet connection, i.e. GO exec, GO!, Wi-Fi, USB-tethered mobile, Starlink, or 4G/5G Router.
To check your Connection Policy:
Click on the PredictMail menu.
Click the Connection tab on the PredictMail Settings page.
Check the Policy set.
Set your preferred Policy, then click Save & Apply.
Immediately on sending mail with polling on tracking interval is the recommended policy for Iridium airtime customers on the GO! / GO exec Unlimited Plans, GO exec 100, 250 and 1200. Customers on other plans are recommended to upgrade to one of these options to avoid overages.
This policy means the DataHub will connect and send/receive messages each time you send. If no messages are sent, the DataHub will check for new messages next on the GPS tracking interval.
This option is visible and the default set when the PredictMail via Iridium and Poll on Tracking options are selected on the Internet > GO! or GO exec Quick Start pages with firmware 1.13 or later. If you have these devices and cannot see this policy please connect and enable them first.
Other PredictMail Connection Policies
Below is the list of other PredictMail connection policies:

Immediately on sending mail with polling on polling interval (Factory Default) | This policy sends immediately through a high-speed Internet connection before the GO or GO exec quickstart pages are setup with a 60-minute default polling Interval for checking new messages. The polling frequency can be adjusted below the Policy setting. |
Immediately on sending mail | A PredictMail connection is made every time you send an email. You must send an email or open a connection manually to receive emails. |
On tracking/polling interval
(Only visible and activated if PredictMail via Iridium and Poll on Tracking are selected during Iridium GO! or GO exec Quick Start) | A PredictMail Connection will be made each time your DataHub connects to report your GPS position over the Wi-Fi, USB-tethered, or Ethernet WAN Internet. If a lower-cost connection is unavailable, the DataHub will fall over to connect via your GO! or GO exec.
Recommend for customers with Iridium GO exec 5 and 25 plans. |
Manually start/stop the transfer from the tools menu. | A connection will only be made and send/receive done when the green CONNECT button is clicked on the PredictMail > Connection top menu.
