From DataHub Firmware 4.41 a new feature has been added which allows you to run hardware diagnostics to determine the status of DataHub components and GPS Status.
To perform a hardware diagnostic on the DataHub:
Connect to DataHub Wi-Fi and login to 10.10.10.1
Click on Services > Settings > Diagnostics.
Click Check Hardware.
Important Note: If you do not see the Check Hardware button, update your DataHub Firmware to version 4.41 or later. You may need to click ALTERNATE to see and select Firmware version 4.41 as of 6th January, because it is still beta.
For a fully functional DataHub, you will see the following displayed in the window below:
Testing GPS
PASS:GPS - Found GPS
PASS:GPS - Valid GPS Data
Testing for LTE/GSM
FAIL:LTE - No LTE/GSM modem found
Tesing SD card
PASS:SD - SD card present
PASS:SD - Valid Linux partitions found
PASS:SD - SD mounted
Tesing SSD
FAIL:SD - SSD not present
Looking for CAN devices
PASS:CAN - Found 1 devices
Testing WiFi
PASS:WIFI - 5 GHz WiFi found with SSID: "PW-Hub-B0D1"
PASS:WIFI - 5 GHz scan found 3 Cell(s)/Hotspot(s)
PASS:WIFI - 2.4 GHz WiFi found
PASS:WIFI - 2.4 GHz scan found 8 Cell(s)/Hotspot(s)
Done
Below this is printed the current syslog, it might look like this:
In the example above I have disconnected the GPS Patch antenna, so the GPS Status = VOID. To fix this, I screw in the GPS patch antenna.

DataHub Hardware Diagnostics - Common Issues and Troubleshooting Steps
Below are some examples of typical errors you might see after running a Hardware Check and resolution steps:
1. GPS Not Working / Invalid
PASS:GPS - Found GPS
FAIL:GPS - GPS dead. No data
FAIL:GPS - Void GPS Data
This means the internal GPS on the DataHub motherboard is found, however, the hockey puck GPS on a 1.8m patch antenna is not connected, or needs to be repostioned.
PASS:GPS - Found GPS
$GPRMC,202227.000,V,,,,,,,050126,,,N,V*30
$GPRMC,202228.000,V,,,,,,,050126,,,N,V*3F
FAIL:GPS - Invalid GPS Data: $GPRMC,202227.000,V,,,,,,,050126,,,N,V*30
$GPRMC,202228.000,V,,,,,,,050126,,,N,V*3F
This error (or a similar one) means that although the Onboard GPS chip has been found, it is receiving VOID GPS data. This might be due to poor signal strength or a GPS on the N2K network that is in an old epoch and needs a Firmware update. See DataHub NMEA GPS status VOID - shows all other data and tracking not working for more information.
2. SD Card not present or needs reformatting
FAIL:SD - SD card not present
This means either there is no SD card in the DataHub or the SD Card is invalid due to a disk formatting issue. If you have not removed the SD card, then reformat the DataHub SD card to resolve this issue.
Tesing SD Card
PASS:SD - Card present
FAIL:SD - Improper format. Found 0 partitions.
This means the SD Card is invalid due to a disk formatting issue. Reformat the DataHub SD card to resolve this issue. If this does not fix the issue you may need to replace the SD Card.
3.N2K Can Bus is broken or not working
Looking for CAN devices
PASS:CAN - Found 0 devices
This means the DataHub cannot find the CAN bus for NMEA2000 / N2K. Please contact support@predictwind.com for further assistance and copy/paste the hardware check into your email.
4. Wi-Fi chip issue
FAIL:WIFI - 5 GHz WiFi not found
FAIL:WIFI - 2.4 GHz WiFi not found
If you see either of these error messages:
Under Services > Settings > Wi-Fi click the ENABLE button for the Wi-Fi which is missing.
If this does not resolve the issue, please contact support@predictwind.com for further assistance and copy/paste the hardware check into your email.
