Troubleshooting the Offshore App on Apple and Android Devices

Steps to try if you are experiencing problems with the PredictWind Offshore App on your Apple or Android device.

Written by Marleen Cleyndert

If you are having trouble with the Offshore App, follow the troubleshooting steps below for your device.

You do not need a separate login for the Offshore App. Your PredictWind Forecast subscription email address and password work across all PredictWind Apps, including the PredictWind App, Forecast Website and Offshore App.

Offshore App on iPhone or iPad

  1. Check you are logged into the correct PredictWind account. Open the Offshore App and select Preferences from the main menu. Check that the email address shown is for your upgraded PredictWind account.

  2. Restart your device by powering your iPhone or iPad off and back on again.

  3. If you have access to a high-speed internet connection, uninstall and reinstall the Offshore App from the Apple App Store.

  4. Update your iPhone or iPad to the latest available version of iOS or iPadOS. If you are using a beta version of iOS or iPadOS, switch to the latest stable release, as beta versions may not be fully compatible with the Offshore App.

  5. If you have a VPN installed on your device, disable it and try the Offshore App again. If disabling the VPN does not resolve the issue, uninstall the VPN temporarily and try again.

  6. Check whether you have a security App installed that may be preventing the Offshore App from loading or connecting. You may need to allow the Offshore App through the security App or temporarily disable the security App and try again.

Minimum requirement: iOS/iPadOS 15.2 or later.

Offshore App on Android

  1. Check you are logged into the correct PredictWind account. Open the Offshore App and check that you are logged in using the email address associated with your upgraded PredictWind account.

  2. Restart your device by powering your Android phone or tablet off and back on again.

  3. If you have access to a high-speed internet connection, uninstall and reinstall the Offshore App from the Apple App Store.

  4. Update your device to the latest available Android operating system.

  5. Clear the Offshore App cache. On your Android device, go to Settings > Apps > Offshore App > Storage > Clear cache.

  6. Check that you have the latest version of Android System WebView. Restart your Android device, then open the Google Play Store, search for Android System WebView, and install any available update.

  7. If you have a VPN installed on your device, disable it and try the Offshore App again. If disabling the VPN does not resolve the issue, uninstall the VPN temporarily and try again.

  8. Check whether you have a security App installed that may be preventing the Offshore App from loading or connecting. You may need to allow the Offshore App through the security App or temporarily disable the security App and try again.

  9. As a last resort you can try and Clear App Data. If the issue continues after trying all the steps above, you can clear the PredictWind App data. Go to Settings > Apps > PredictWind App > Storage > Clear Data. Important: This resets locally stored App data and settings, and you will need to log in again. Make sure you know your PredictWind account email address and password before continuing.

Minimum requirement: Android 8 on a device originally supplied with Android 8 or later.
