Windows Outlook Set up for PredictMail

Before you start

  • Do you have a PredictMail account?

If you do not have a PredictMail account, please set one up first in the Satellite Portal.

  • Have you set up PredictMail on the DataHub?

Please set up PredictMail on the DataHub before you set up PredictMail on your laptop. This will ensure that after you reconnect your laptop to DataHub Wi-Fi, it will not report an error when it attempts to check PredictMail.

  • Connect to the Internet via your device's cellular data, home or another high-speed Wi-Fi, or a hot spot from another device. Disconnect from and do not use DataHub Wi-Fi during the PredictMail setup.

  • This guide has been written for Outlook 365 on Windows 10. The steps, screens, and options may differ if you use a different version of Outlook or Windows. Steps and screenshots for older versions are included below where possible.

Add a PredictMail account to Outlook for Windows

  • Click the File menu on the top left.

  • Select + Add Account.

  • Type in your PredictMail email address.

  • Click the Connect button.

  • Type in your Password.

  • Click on the eye icon to reveal and check it.

  • Click Connect.

  • Outlook will now verify your settings. If they are correct, you will see this page.

  • Click Done.

Important Note: The Outlook Settings wizard automatically sets the incoming and outgoing mail server settings incorrectly for use with the DataHub. To use Outlook on DataHub Wi-Fi or via Ethernet, you must update these, or you will receive an error.

To resolve this before connecting to DataHub Wi-Fi:

  • Click on Send/Receive.

  • Click Send/Receive Groups.

  • Click Define Send/Receive Groups.

  • Select your PredictMail account or All Accounts if no other account is defined.

  • Click Edit.

  • Edit the Server Information:

    • Incoming Mail Server (POP3): predictmail.com

    • Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): predictmail.com

    • Click OK.

Congratulations! You have now set up Outlook for Windows.

If you have completed DataHub setup and Step 1 - Setup PredictMail on the DataHub, then to use Outlook with your DataHub, connect it to DataHub Wi-Fi.
